Quentin Tarantino, the renowned director thinks that the era of going to movies is dying. His statement "2019 was the last year of the movies" comes in the wake of the non-recovery of the industry after the covid-19 pandemic.
However, not all filmmakers sharethe same sentiment. Martin Scorsese, believes that cinema is merely transforming and not dying. At LePrince, a London-based startup, we're of thesame view. We believe the death of cinema is simply impossible. Films are so important to our culture that they can endure any difficulties. but in the face of the transformation that the industry is going through, we wanted to offer our new model to independent filmmakers, so that we might help more original stories reach the big screen
Le Prince is a start up based in London, UK, named after film pioneer, Louis Le Prince, who is said to bethe true innovator of the moving image. It felt fitting to us to align ourselves with the conception ofcinema, as true believers in the power of film.
An underground cinema in Tehran; I was taking a risk to sit there in the dark and watch north by northwest , taxi driver and bicycle thieves in the country’s only cinema that showed international films. That is where I fell in love with cinema. A decade later, I am still living in the UK, hungry for the magic of the big screen. But now, It’s not the strictures of the regime that prevent me from seeing more. It’s the strictures of the movie exhibition process. So, for the last three years, my team and I have developed technologies that will allow audiences to watch any film in their cinemas.

It wouldn't be wrong to call Le Prince an intersection for filmmakers, audiences, and distributors to meet because that's precisely what it is. Operating as a dual platform, Le Prince serves both filmmakers and audiences.
